It does make me worry a bit that they know something the Cubs don't. But Billy Beane seems like a decent fellow (for a GM), and Hendry and he have a pretty good relationship.

However, I really can't see this ending up being a bad trade. Worst case scenario is he gets hurt for the rest of the year and the Cubs don't improve; but they wouldn't have gotten worse, either. And he'll be back for at least one more year.

I always wanted a doppelganger. I would have preferred an idolizing groupie, but this works. Though so you know, if I end up in the hospital I'm blaming you.

Hope you enjoy the blog and come back again!!

Dude. I'm all about this trade, though I, too, felt blindsided by the way we swooped in and snatched him up (and hello, Oakland's not bad. I mean, they got Gallagher, but he's not Harden this year, and they could still be contending). And, like the rest of the universe, I liked Murton too, stumpy legs and all. On another note, upon realizing that I agree with just about everything you think, up to and including a passionate appreciation of Al Franken, I somehow navigated myself to your Myspace page and WHAT?! We have the same space/nebula/star/blue and black photo as our backgrounds. So anyway, be warned. You have an internet doppelganger.
